Valentine’s Day pizza for my cupcake!

Valentine’s Day pizza for my cupcake!

Love that this article was published in the NYTimes. Tebow in football, now Lin in the NBA. Men of Godly character and real role models for our kids. Gives me hope when mainstream news brings so much bad news for the future of our kids.

Great interview with NBA rising star, Jeremy Lin. Loved reading the last part about his parents’ influence on him as a Godly athlete. For his parents, it wasn’t about how well Jeremy played on the court, but his attitude and character, whether he reflected God’s image.

Tiny Footsteps at Midnight

I love the sound of pitter pattering footsteps at midnight. It cracks me up cause the arrival of the tiny human delivering the endearing sound seems so delayed as it contradicts with her swift pace and the number steps resounding through the halls. Oh cuteness!

Discovering the Local Ume Tree Groves

It’s been a warm winter in SoCal. Even though we are newbies in our neighborhood, I was amazed to see the early bloom of our peach tree in the first week of January.

I adore trees that blossom so when I learned there was an Ume tree grove nearby, I just had to see it with my daughter. We brought her BFF with us to discover the seasonal treat at Schabarum Regional Park. Its beautiful landscape is actually a sister park of “Kairaku En Park Ibaraki Prefecture” in Japan (per the sign that the girls are blocking).

The terrain was hilly and the trail wasn’t meant for a two-year-old to hike. So, it was quite difficult to take pictures, enjoy the scenery and keep my daughter in check. I managed to take a few shots before my camera exhausted. Sooooo glad that on the way out of the house, I grabbed our colorful umbrellas to bring to the park. Not only were the umbrellas a lot of fun for the girls, but fitting for the landscape!

Here are a few more shots with my trusty iPhone. Can’t leave home without it!

When I had enough of chasing after a two-year-old running down the slope, in fear of her tripping and hitting her head on a stump, we continued to enjoy the sunny day on a picnic table for some arts and crafts, while snacking on seaweed (until now, I didn’t realize that our outing was themed! I guess the PR professional in me just can’t help it, hah!).

For lunch, there was a Japanese restaurant nearby, but the girls wanted to eat at Chipotle. We enjoyed the outdoor seating and saw some firefighters getting ready to take their lunch. We took the opportunity to thank them for their service and have a quick photo shoot with Big Red. Nice way to end a fun-filled morning.

I just checked out the park website and apparently it has cherry trees that bloom in March/April (who knows, maybe February this year). I’m definitely going to visit the park in the near future. Parking is free on the weekdays.

This is the video I mentioned in my latest post. Watch from beginning to end.

Have You Seen 180?

We went to Calvary Chapel Chino Hills’ study tonight called “The Worldview Series.” Today raised questions about the value of life. Two videos were shown, and while both were powerful, one of them really moved me. I wish more teens would watch. Being a mother to a daughter who will one day face the pressures, responsibilities and blessings of being a young woman in this world, tonight’s message is something I will always keep handy.

I never thought I’d ever quote Hilter, but he once said something like, “he who owns the youth gains the future.” Such truth in that statement.

Here’s the link to the video I saw. http://youtu.be/7y2KsU_dhwI
